OUR MISSION
Claire’s Army strives to act as God’s hands and feet for families fighting childhood cancer by supporting their daily responsibilities, allowing them to put time and focus on their child.
As I think back to 7 years ago when I met Kevin and Emily Ratliff, I could have never imagined that I would be part of such an amazing organization. I have watched it grow from an idea into helping hundreds of families in our community. Their mantra has always been “not matter what it takes” to help a patient and family along this journey. They are always my emergency resource for a unique or urgent need. They have provided flights for family members needing to travel to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis to discuss treatment options, provide wigs for teen-age girls struggling with the loss of their hair due to treatment and saved families from losing their home or having their utilities disconnected due to the financial burden that comes along with a childhood cancer diagnosis. I am forever grateful to be a part of this amazing army of people who will continue to be the safety net for all of the families in our community battling some form of childhood cancer. – Robin Gardner, pediatric oncology Social Worker at St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital.
