2020 Annual Claire’s Army Pancake Breakfast & Blood Drive Success

On Saturday, February 8th, we filled the hearts and tummies of hundreds of new and old friends at our Annual Pancake Breakfast and Blood Drive. Pancakes were Claire’s favorite food – she loved them before cancer and loved them even more during treatment. On January 21st, 2012, we served pancakes to those who gathered to celebrate her life and it brings us great joy to honor Claire’s legacy in celebration and fellowship featuring some of her favorite things today.

This year, in addition to pancakes, there were princesses and superheroes, balloons, crafts, glitter tattoos, hair-braiding, donuts and our biggest raffle ever! We hope through the sparkle and joy, our attendees felt Claire’s spirit of unconditional love and service to others while we called local recruits and raised money to support families facing childhood cancer in our community.

Thanks to our incredible presenting sponsor, FS Food Group, an outstanding team of volunteers, generous event sponsors, dedicated guests, and donors near and far, we raised over $17,000. These gifts will directly impact patients and their families at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital and Atrium Health Levine Children’s through one or more of our impact programs.

Alicia Fink, Karin Norman, Julie Nale and Kelcie Johnson – thank you for choosing to serve with Claire’s Army as our event planning committee. Each one of you brings unique talent and passion to our mission and it shows. Thank you for making this morning remarkable for our guests and for weaving Claire’s essence into every detail.
